Draw from the character set you select. Default length is 16, adjustable from 6–128. You can drop 0, O, 1, l, and I, or set the first character. Below 8 characters, this page warns that strength is low. Best for new accounts and long-lived passwords stored in a password manager.
Draw 3–10 words from a built-in English word list, joined with hyphens by default. You can insert a digit or symbol at a random place, or capitalize each word. Best when you must type by hand and do not want a wall of symbols. Important accounts should still use random characters.
